Special Voter List Survey to begin in Telangana from today, door-to-door survey till July 24 – Distribution of enumeration papers to 3.38 crore voters Hyderabad, June 25: The Election Commission has started a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme from today with the aim of making the voter lists in Telangana more transparent and accurate. This process will continue for a month till July 24. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will distribute enumeration papers to 3,38,26,448 voters across the state. Through this survey, the details of the voters will be thoroughly examined and issues like registration of new voters, deletion of names of deceased voters, address changes, name corrections etc. will be recorded. Special teams have been deployed in all districts of the state as per the directions of the Election Commission. According to officials, the BLOs will go to every house and verify the details of the voters. Each family will be provided with an enumeration form, the details in it will be examined and if necessary, they will be advised to record them. The information collected will then be entered online and the final voter list will be prepared. According to the details given by the Election Commission, eligible youth who have completed 18 years of age should use this opportunity to register their names in the voter list. It has also asked the already registered voters to check their name, address, photo, etc. details and correct any mistakes immediately. The office of the State Chief Electoral Officer has issued special guidelines to the Collectors and Election Returning Officers of all districts. Monitoring teams have also been formed to ensure that there are no irregularities in the survey process. BLOs will directly meet the people in villages, towns and cities and collect information. Speaking on the occasion, officials said that people should cooperate with the BLOs and provide correct details so that the voter list can be prepared with more accuracy. They called on everyone to consider the right to vote as a responsibility in a democracy. The election officials revealed that the final voter list will be released after examining the objections and applications received after the survey. The election administration has made extensive arrangements to make this program a success across the state. Instructions to the people: When the BLOs come to your home, you should provide full cooperation. Aadhaar and identity documents should be ready. Those who have completed 18 years of age should register as new voters. Incorrect voter details should be corrected immediately. Details of family members should be provided accurately. The Election Commission has undertaken this special survey program with the slogan “Correct Voter List – Foundation of a Strong Democracy”.
