Rayanapadu station to get new features, modernisation at a cost of Rs. 19.90 crore. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi inspects the works

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi visited Rayanapadu Railway Station, developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, on Wednesday. He inspected the modernization work undertaken at the station and held a review with the officials. He inquired about the facilities available to the passengers. The central government has allocated a total of Rs. 19.90 crore for the development of Rayanapadu Railway Station. Initially, the work was started with Rs. 12.13 crore, but later the cost of the project was increased by providing additional facilities. With these funds, the station building was modernized and spacious waiting halls, digital passenger information system, disabled-friendly facilities, modern toilets, drinking water facilities, parking area, and circulating area were developed. Rayanapadu Station has become attractive with its main entrance resembling an airport, wide platforms, AC waiting halls, improved lighting system, and clean environment. Officials said that it is shaping up as an alternative railway hub to reduce pressure on Vijayawada Railway Station. Speaking on the occasion, Nandigama AMC Chairman Pittala Sridevi said that the central government has paid special attention to the development of Rayanapadu station. He said that the development work undertaken at a cost of crores of rupees will provide better transport facilities to the people of Vijayawada and surrounding areas. He said that the visit of Union Minister Prahlad Joshi will give more importance to the development of this area.
