Speaking on the occasion, he expressed concern that students were facing difficulties due to lack of basic facilities in many ashram schools and hostels in the district. In the wake of the onset of the monsoon season, he asked that regular medical camps be organized in all schools and hostels to prevent students from contracting toxic fever and seasonal diseases. Similarly, he said that some ashram school buildings in the district have reached a dilapidated state and there is a possibility of threat to the lives of students due to rains. They demanded immediate repair work and steps to provide education in a safe environment. They said that students are facing serious difficulties due to the complete lack of drinking water and electricity facilities in some schools and hostels. They demanded that continuous drinking water and electricity supply be provided in all educational institutions. They also asked the government to complete the tribal primary school buildings under construction in the district on a war footing and make them available for the use of students. Keeping in mind the welfare of tribal students, Durgam Dinakar appealed to the officials of the Tribal Welfare Department to respond immediately and take steps to resolve the problems.
