Overcoming the most complex medical conditions, the Apollo Specialty Medical Team in Nellore successfully saved a newborn baby weighing just 700 grams. On Thursday, Senior Gynecologist Dr. Lakshmi Durga, Apollo Hospital Unit Head Vishweshwar Reddy, and Director Medical Services Dr. Sriram Satish held a media conference at Apollo Hospital and shared the details. It was revealed that a 28-year-old woman who was about 25 weeks pregnant was admitted to Apollo Hospital with problems such as severe back pain, vomiting, and amniotic fluid leakage. However, her condition became very dangerous due to the rare ”Bicornuate Uterus” problem, in which the uterus is divided into two parts from birth. As the condition worsened, it was revealed that they performed an emergency Caesarean section (LSCS) surgery and delivered the baby. A baby girl was born in this delivery, and the baby weighed only 700 grams at the time of birth. Since the baby was very low in weight, he was immediately placed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and provided special monitoring and advanced treatment. After the surgery, the mother recovered and the child also stabilized in perfect health, and the mother and child were discharged from the hospital safely. It was revealed that the complex case was effectively handled and the child was saved.
