Uppet BC Colony in darkness for three months

The people of the colony have been facing severe problems due to the non-functioning street lights in the Uppepet BC Colony in Siddavatam for the past three months. Locals are expressing their concern that people are having difficulty going out as the streets become dark at night. They said that there is a situation where women, the elderly and children in particular have to be afraid to move around at night. They said that due to the non-functioning street lights, the main streets as well as the internal roads in the colony are also in darkness. They said that accidents are possible due to the darkness and that there is more concern in areas where poisonous insects and snakes roam at night. The residents of the colony said that they have brought this problem to the attention of the panchayat officials several times and have requested them to repair the street lights, but the problem has not been resolved so far. They expressed their dissatisfaction with the authorities’ indifference even though the problem has been going on for three months. The locals are demanding that the relevant panchayat officials respond and immediately repair the non-functioning street lights in Uppepet BC Colony and install new lights where necessary. They are appealing for a permanent solution to the problem, keeping in mind the safety of the people.
