(Punnami Representative) Vemula Mandal: After the Gram Sabha, the possibilities of setting up a dairy unit were examined. The Gram Samakhya Assistant was advised to develop dairy industry as an important livelihood activity for the livelihood of rural women and growth of family income. It was stated that community coordinators should educate the beneficiaries on the issues of purchase, management, veterinary services, animal feed, milk production and marketing of dairy cattle. It was suggested that steps should be taken in coordination with the relevant departments to ensure financial protection in cases of unexpected accidents and death of cattle by providing insurance facility for cattle. The eligible persons should be made aware of the schemes and insurance facilities of the Animal Husbandry Department.
