Request to the Collector to provide drinking water facility to the people of Atmakur Mandal Atmakur, September 21 (Punnami Representative): YSR Congress Party Atmakur Mandal SC Cell President Todeti Ashok requested that the drinking water scheme works sanctioned under the Jal Jeevan Mission in Atmakur Mandal be completed quickly and drinking water facility be provided to the people. He said that he met the District Collector and submitted a petition as the problem was not resolved at the Mandal level. Ashok stated that out of the construction works of water tanks sanctioned under the Jal Jeevan Mission for 21 gram panchayats in the Mandal, 11 works have been started but have been stopped midway. He said that some of the works sanctioned during the previous government’s tenure have been completed to about 50 percent, and some works have continued even after that, but some have not been completed. He said that keeping in mind the drinking water needs of the people of the mandal, he has already met the MPDO twice to explain the problem and requested that the works be completed at the earliest. However, since the problem has not been completely resolved, he said that he has met the District Collector and submitted a memorandum. Ashok said that in addition to completing the works that have already been started quickly, he has requested the Collector to start and complete the works that have not been started immediately.
