Kakinada District Representative, September 28 (Punnami News): Anaparthi MLA Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy discussed the issues facing Pedapudi Mandal in the presence of Kakinada Collector Harendra Prasad at the Kakinada Collectorate with Drains E.E.D.E. A. E Pedapudi Mandal Special Officer, MPDO, Tahsildar, and Agriculture AO. On this occasion, Anaparthi MLA Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy said at a media conference that the entire Pedapudi Mandal was devastated by the cyclone four days ago, especially thousands of acres are submerged every year. Our idea today is to find a permanent solution to this. Especially the Bikkavolu drain or other small drains or the West Eleru drain from the other side are causing problems here. To solve this, dredging these is one thing. Similarly, in the last two years, I have been demanding Godavari Delta modernization as an assembly witness on every occasion. Today, the Minister for Water Resources, Ramanaidu, is also very adamant about Godavari Delta modernization. Today, all the MLAs in both Godavari districts have come together and asked Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for a sanction of about Rs. 3,000-3,500 crores. The Chief Minister Chandrababu has taken the consent of sanctioning it. If there is no Rabi season or Rabi crop due to the effect of El Nino, then this should be started and completed from that time. Otherwise, the closure period should be extended a little and done there. In the meantime, all these drains related to Pedapudi mandal are being dredged. In addition to this, the Municipal Corporation has illegally changed the alignment of drains in the Madeline project and created a problem for discharge. How to handle this, the Collector said yesterday. The Collector, as well as the Project Committee Chairman, Distributory Committee Chairman, coalition leaders, and special officers, Irrigation E.E., Drains S.E., Irrigation S.E., as well as mandal level officials, MPDO, Tehsildar and all the other officials visited yesterday. The Collector also said that a comprehensive report should be prepared. Our goal is to send this report to the government and save Pedapudi mandal from this flood permanently. To achieve that goal, now I have participated in the presence of the Kakinada Collector along with all the officials and discussed all these matters. I am announcing on this occasion that this problem will definitely be resolved at the earliest. Officials, coalition leaders and others participated in this program.
