The welfare of the lower classes should be kept in mind in every decision. *Truth, non-violence and morality should be part of the performance of government employees. *Better services should be provided to the people with time management. *Celebration of 157th Gandhi Jayanti and 122nd Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti in a grand manner. *District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha said that the ideals of Gandhiji and Lal Bahadur Shastri should be implemented in practice. *District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha* said. On Friday, on the occasion of *157th Gandhi Jayanti and 122nd Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti* at the District Integrated Collector’s Office, *District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha, under the auspices of the District Backward Classes Department, lit a lamp and garlanded the portraits of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and the second Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri* and paid tributes in a grand manner. Similarly, *Additional Collector (Revenue) Benshalom, district officials and all the staff of the respective departments participated and garlanded the portraits of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and the second Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri* and paid tributes in a grand manner. Speaking on the occasion, the *District Collector* said.. Today is Gandhi Jayanti, Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti, International Non-Violence Day, and Swachh Bharat Diwas. Mahatma Gandhi gave utmost importance to values like impartial inquiry, decision in accordance with conscience, truth and non-violence in solving public problems. He recalled that during the Champaran movement, Gandhiji himself conducted an inquiry to find out the problems of farmers and tried to find out the facts impartially. He also suggested that government officials should record the facts as they are when conducting an inquiry on any issue. The Collector said that unnecessarily moving people around in government offices is also a form of violence. He suggested that files should be resolved within the stipulated time as per the office rules, especially when the disabled, widows and poor people come to the offices, their problems should be resolved with sympathy and quickly. He said that people’s work should not be delayed unnecessarily, and services should be provided in offices in a way that is accessible to them. In the spirit of the ‘talisman’ mentioned by Gandhiji, the Collector suggested that before taking every decision, the officials should think about the impact of that decision on the poorest of the society. *Protection of government assets is a symbol of public trust* He said that it is the responsibility of every concerned officer to protect government lands and government assets. He clarified that it is the responsibility of the officials to identify and remove encroachments and irregularities in government lands and to maintain revenue records properly. He said that by protecting government assets, the opportunities for the poor to use land, schools and hospitals for public needs in the future will be protected. *Timeliness and responsibility are needed in public services* The Collector suggested that every departmental officer should attend duties on time and supervise the staff under his jurisdiction to effectively discharge the responsibilities assigned to them. *Ethical values should be followed* In the current context of increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI), the Collector said that it should be used responsibly and in accordance with ethical values. Technology should make our work easier, but caution should be taken not to go to the point of completely replacing human decision-making capacity. *Local institutions should be strengthened* The Collector said that governance and self-governance from the grassroots have a special place in Gandhiji’s thoughts. The 73rd and 74th constitutional amendments have increased the importance of local institutions,
He said that there is a need to further strengthen rural and urban local bodies. He suggested that public funds should be used properly in local bodies, assets that are useful to the people should be created, records should be maintained properly, and there should be no scope for misuse of funds. He said that sanitation should be given top priority. *Cleanliness is everyone’s responsibility* The Collector reminded that Gandhiji gave great importance to cleanliness. He said that officers and staff should take steps to keep every government office and office surroundings clean. He suggested that garbage bins should be used instead of throwing garbage anywhere. He said that a clean office environment creates a positive environment not only for employees but also for the people. *Lal Bahadur Shastri is an ideal of moral values* The Collector said that Lal Bahadur Shastri stood as a symbol of the highest moral values. He suggested that every government employee should take his ideal as an inspiration, taking moral responsibility as the Railway Minister when the railway accident occurred. He said that the moral values of great people like Gandhiji and Lal Bahadur Shastri should be implemented in personal life as well as in government administration and office work. He revealed that by solving the problems of the poor and providing them with timely government services, it would be a true tribute to these great people. Later, *Additional Collector (Revenue)* said that the values and messages of Mahatma Gandhiji have influenced not only India but also the world. He said that non-violence and Sarvodaya are the most important values taught by Gandhiji. He said that the concept of Sarvodaya, which should benefit everyone in the society, will always be a guide for all generations. He said that by practicing Gandhian values in our lives, we can bring about a good change in our personal life as well as professional life. He called for practicing the ideals and values of Mahatma Gandhiji and Lal Bahadur Shastri in our lives. Subsequently, in the 12th Telangana State Athletics Championship, athletes from the district showed their talent and won a total of 2 gold medals and 4 silver medals. In the Under-20 category, G. Sunith Kumar won the gold medal in shot put with a distance of 14.97 meters and the silver medal in hammer throw with a distance of 48.88 meters. Sunith Kumar was previously recognized as a national-level athlete who won a bronze medal in shot put in the national level competitions held in Pondicherry. In the Under-20 category, M. Akshaya Sindhu won the gold medal in hammer throw with a distance of 29.98 meters and the silver medal in shot put with a distance of 10.27 meters. She excelled as a player who stood fourth in shot put at the national level. In the Under-16 category, S. Samanvita won a silver medal in shot put with a distance of 9.67 meters. Samanvita, who qualified for the national level competitions, participated in the competitions held in Chennai. Similarly, T. Ranjith Kumar, coach, won a silver medal in hammer throw with a distance of 38.92 meters. In this context, District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha along with *Additional Collector (Revenue) Benshalom* congratulated the winners, honored them with shawls and praised their talent. District Backward Classes Department Officer N.L. Narasimha Rao, district officials, staff of various departments, and others participated in this program.
