An incident that tarnishes the values of motherhood and fatherhood has come to light in Maharashtra. Police have found that a couple from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar sold their one-month-old baby for Rs 1.20 lakh. Investigation revealed that they used the money from selling the baby to buy expensive smartphones and gold ornaments.
Police found that the baby was transported to Telangana via Nanded within just 48 hours of being sold. Investigation revealed that the baby changed hands several times in the process. Finally, police found that the baby was sold in Hyderabad for Rs. 3.50 lakh.
After the matter came to light, the police launched a special investigation. The baby in Hyderabad was safely rescued and handed over to the care of the relevant authorities. In this case, the police have arrested a total of seven people, including the parents, middlemen and other related persons.
Motherhood..fatherhood means responsibility
It is deeply concerning that parents who are supposed to protect their children sell their babies for money and luxury items. Things like gold and phones can be reacquired, but a child’s childhood and future cannot be bought back.
Motherhood and fatherhood are not just about giving birth to a child. It is about raising that child with love, protecting it, and providing it with a good future. A child has no price. A child has a future. Everyone has the responsibility to protect human values.
