*Fraud in the name of cheques.. Government teacher absconds with Rs. 10 crores*The incident in Suryapet district came to light after he absconded with his family. The incident of a government teacher who sold lands in 12 villages with a plan to collect huge money from people and relatives and acted in a drama in Hyderabad and collected more than Rs. 10 crores from the people in the name of cheques has created a stir in Suryapet district. This huge fraud came to light when the victims filed a complaint with the district SP Narasimha on Saturday. A person from Yenegandi Thanda, Chivvenla mandal, is working as an SGT in Shettigudem school, Atmakur (S) mandal. He lives in a rented house in Vidyanagar, Suryapet, and has been running a cheque business for the past six years. He collected money from his own gang, as well as from people, relatives and other government employees of 12 surrounding villages. He collected money from each person ranging from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 1.30 crore. He gave promissory notes to some, while he assured others that he would give high profits every month. In this way, he collected more than Rs. 10 crore. However, as the victims were pressuring him to repay the money for a year, he kept making installments. In this process, he made a definite plan to escape. He registered most of his 4 acres of land in the names of others and kept only 13 pits in his name. About ten days ago, he took two villagers with him on the pretext of meeting an important person in Hyderabad. While sitting in a hotel there, he said that he was in debt and said that he would come right away and left. After he did not return, the victims realized that they had been cheated and went to his houses in Suryapet and Thanda and found them locked. The police have registered a case based on the victims’ complaint and are investigating. They are investigating what the accused did with the money.
