As the old bridge over the Munneru on the banks of the canal in Khammam city has reached a dilapidated state, an alternative cable-stayed bridge has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 180 crore. Currently, the construction work of the bridge is progressing at a rapid pace. Of this bridge, which has a total length of 420 meters, 300 meters of cable-stayed bridge will be constructed. If the new bridge becomes available, the traffic pressure on the old bridge will be significantly reduced. Moreover, this bridge will become crucial for the future transportation needs of Khammam city. Once this bridge, which is being shaped with modern construction, is completed, more convenient transportation will be available to the people of the city.
