Vinayaka immersion ceremonies will be held in Khammam city today. Devotees will bid farewell to Lord Ganesha, who has been worshipped with devotion for nine days, saying ‘Bye Bye Ganesh’. The Gandhi Chowk farewell venue, which has been going on for the last 50 years, has been shifted to Mustafa Nagar this time. This change has been made in the context of the immersion of Vinayaka idols in the Damsalapuram lake instead of the Munneru river. To prevent any untoward incident during the immersion program, the officials under the leadership of District Collector Diwakar TS, Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt and Corporation Commissioner Abhishek Agastya have completed extensive arrangements. Special attention has been paid to the movement of devotees, traffic control, security and necessary facilities in the immersion area. With this, Khammam city will be bustling with the excitement of Ganesh immersion today. Devotees are preparing to send Lord Ganesha to the lap of Ganga, saying, “Look at people calmly, Ganesha.”
