Nandyal: On the occasion of Bhagat Singh’s 119th birth anniversary, DYFI and SFI paid tributes to Bhagat Singh’s portrait on the grounds of the local Degree College under the auspices of DYFI. They said that the youth should come forward together for the aspirations of the great leader Bhagat Singh, who sacrificed his life for the country at the age of 21, and they should also urge students and youth to take steps for the betterment of the country without taking the wrong path. Later, in the wake of various objections being expressed against the Special Comprehensive Revision (SIR) process of the Voters’ List being carried out by the Election Commission of India, SFI District General Secretary M.R. Nayak and DYFI City Secretary Shiva pledged that the Chief Election Commissioner of India, Gyanesh Kumar, should resign. Speaking on this occasion, they said that the right to vote is the most important right in democracy. DYFI and SFI are of the opinion that the procedures followed in the SIR process are against the values of democracy, that every eligible voter should be given the opportunity to protect his right to vote in the voter list revision process, that transparency should be followed, and that the objections of the people should be taken into account. In this context, DYFI and SFI demand that the Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar resign, that the Election Commission should act independently and impartially and maintain the trust of the people, and that a comprehensive investigation be conducted on these issues. Later, the statue of Bhagat Singh, which is in the town, was anointed with oil. DYFI Town Assistant Secretary Raghava Srinivasulu, Venkateswarlu, Chinna Kulayappa, Anjaneyulu, Ravi, SFI City Secretary Sivakumar, Munnaf, Nayukulu Nagarjuna, Varun, Teja, and others participated in this program.
