✒️ *Turned into a sewage canal.. causing problems for the surrounding people* ✒️ *Hill canal being filled with dumping yards* ✒️ *Is it being encroached upon? Locals want the authorities to look into it* ✒️ *When will action be taken on the condition of the canal flowing along Survey No. 325?* ✍️ The *hill canal*, which was once the basis for agriculture in Satyavedu town of Tirupati district, has now disappeared. Locals say that the water originating in the hill area flows through Ulavasena and Kotamitta, reaches the farmlands from behind the Satyavedu *RTC bus stand* and meets the pond near the Dharmarajula temple. 👉 Earlier, this canal was about *25 to 30* feet wide, and many *farmers* used to do agriculture relying on the canal. However, they say that over time, the canal has gradually shrunk due to encroachment, soil accumulation, and *waste dumping*. 👉 Locals are expressing their concern that the canal traces are currently visible only *three to four feet* behind the RTC bus stand. They say that this canal, which once provided rainwater from the hill to the agricultural lands, has today become a drainage through which sewage flows. 👉 Locals say that the situation is getting worse due to dumping of *old ironware, plastic and other waste* next to the canal. This is obstructing the natural flow of the canal and causing problems like mosquitoes and bad smell, which is causing problems for the people. 👉 Locals want the authorities to pay special attention to this canal, which is adjacent to *Survey No. 325*. *What are the reasons for the gradual reduction in the canal area?* *Have there been any encroachments?* *How were permissions obtained for dumping waste?* The relevant authorities are demanding a field investigation on these issues. 👉 People are questioning how reasonable it is to give permissions to such dumping yards, especially near the city. They are demanding that waste management be undertaken away from populated areas. 👉 The hill canal, which was said to be 25 to 30 feet wide.. Today, it has reached three to four feet. Will the authorities take action before the rest of the canal also disappears completely? ✍️ The people of Satyavedu are demanding that the government take steps to restore the canal, remove encroachments and dumping of waste, and restore the previous water flow.
