Nandaluru: There is a political dispute over the installation of stone slabs in the Nagireddypalli Major Gram Panchayat limits of Nandaluru Mandal. YSRCP leader Palle Greeshmanth Reddy alleged that some alliance leaders demolished the stone slab installed in connection with the construction of a drain from Aravapalli Railway Gate to the branch library at R&B Bungalow. He said that the stone slab was installed in connection with the development works to be undertaken with the funds of Rajya Sabha members. He said that the Rajya Sabha members will bring the stone slab demolition incident to the attention of Kadapa SP and ensure that legal action is taken against those responsible. Similarly, another stone slab was installed near Sri Ramuni Temple near Aravapalle Playground with a cost of Rs. 4.20 lakhs for the construction of a watershed and Rs. 1.80 lakhs for the construction of a cement road, Greeshmanth Reddy said. He said that he had stopped some alliance leaders when they came to demolish this stone slab as well. He said that the alliance leaders had objected that the names were placed on the stone slabs before the work began and that there were no relevant permissions and proceedings. In this context, he said that he had assured them that he would provide them with copies of the relevant proceedings from the District Collector’s office. Grishmanth Reddy said that incidents like the demolition of stone slabs are against democratic practices. The full details of the incident, the arguments of both sides, and the explanation of the relevant officials are yet to come to light.
