MNS State Publicity Secretary Edula Nagaraju visited the victims of the Chagapuram incident “Do not incite hatred in the name of caste and religion – a comprehensive inquiry should be conducted into the role of the police” Jogulamba Gadwal July 03 (Punnami Representative) Edula Nagaraju, Telangana State Publicity Secretary of the Superstition Eradication Association, visited the families of the victims injured in the clash that took place on the occasion of Eruvaka Pournami in Chagapuram village of Itikyala mandal, Jogulamba Gadwal district. MNS Jogulamba Gadwal district vice-presidents Noone Erranna, Edula Dhananthimmappa, leaders and activists from Aragidda village and others participated in the program. Speaking on the occasion, Edula Nagaraju said that creating hatred between people in the name of caste, religion and God is extremely dangerous. He advised that every problem should be resolved constitutionally, peacefully and with a scientific approach. He called for restraint, saying that only innocent people will be harmed by getting into a heated argument, especially the youth. He visited the families of the SC Madigas injured in the Chagapuram incident, and assured the victims that MNS would stand by them. He opined that many questions are also being raised about the police’s handling of the incident. He said that doubts are being expressed among the people as to whether the clash would have reached this level if the situation had been effectively controlled earlier. He demanded that the government and higher authorities conduct an independent and impartial investigation into the circumstances leading to the lathicharge, the police’s actions and the real reasons leading to the incident and present the facts before the people. Similarly, he urged that no one should use this incident for political or caste-based gains and that peace and security be maintained in the village.
