Lawyers staged a dharna in front of the Khammam District Court on Wednesday. The event was organized under the auspices of the Khammam District Bar Association on the call of the All India Lawyers Association. They demanded that the death and retirement benefits of lawyers be increased to Rs. 25 lakh. They also asked the government to provide Rs. 5 lakh as medical assistance to lawyers. They appealed to junior lawyers to be given a stipend of Rs. 10 thousand per month for five years. They asked the government to take appropriate steps for the welfare of lawyers. The president of the Khammam District Bar Association and several lawyers participated in this dharna and expressed their demands.
