Khammam, July (Punnami News District Reporter / Puvvada Nagendra Kumar) BJP state spokesperson Namburi Ramalingeswara Rao has strongly condemned the arrest of BJP leaders and activists by the police, saying that it is against democracy to disrupt the peaceful protest program organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party with the intention of informing the people about the irregularities in the purchase and allocation of Buggapadu Mega Food Park lands in Sathupalli Mandal. He criticized the police under the leadership of Vaira Police Inspector P. Rama Rao for detaining BJP leaders and activists and taking them to various police stations as a violation of democratic rights. He said that it is inappropriate to trample on the right to peacefully protest on public issues. He said that while the central government has 50 percent share in the Buggapadu Mega Food Park project and 30 percent share of NABARD, the state government has only 20 percent share. He alleged that it is highly objectionable that the state government is trying to allocate valuable lands to a private company at a low price without considering the opinions of the central government and NABARD in such a project. He criticized the government for trying to cover up its failures by arresting the BJP leaders who are questioning the irregularities despite having already submitted complaints and reports to the government several times without conducting a thorough investigation. He demanded that the government immediately conduct an independent and transparent investigation into the Buggapadu Mega Food Park land issue and take strict action against those responsible for the irregularities, and also immediately withdraw the cases registered against the arrested BJP leaders and activists. Namburi Ramalingeswara Rao made it clear that the Bharatiya Janata Party will intensify its fight against the irregularities in the Buggapadu Mega Food Park land to protect the property of the people and the rights of the farmers. Among those arrested are Vaira town BJP president Venkata Krishna, Vaira Rural Mandal president Dosapati Kalyan Rao, town chief secretaries Rayala Krishna Rao, Srinu Nayak, T. Krishnakanth and others.
