A huge amount of ganja was seized in the coordinated checks conducted by the Bhadrachalam/Khammam excise department officials. A total of 365 kg of ganja and three vehicles were seized and four accused were arrested, said Excise Deputy Commissioner Somireddy. The officials said that the ganja was being smuggled from Odisha in bikes, cars and lorries and was caught in Bhadrachalam and Khammam areas. They said that cases have been registered against the accused and the investigation is ongoing. He clarified that strict action will be taken against those involved in illegal transportation of ganja. Deputy Commissioner Somireddy congratulated the excise staff for conducting coordinated checks to prevent the transportation of ganja.
