Fact-Checking Policy

Fact-Checking Policy

Before publication, reporters should check material claims against reliable primary evidence whenever available, including official documents, direct interviews, on-record statements, public data and original photographs or video.

Verification standards

  • Confirm identities, dates, locations and numerical claims.
  • Trace online images and videos to their source and context.
  • Attribute documents, quotations and third-party reporting.
  • Seek an additional source for disputed or high-impact claims.
  • Separate verified facts from allegation, analysis and opinion.

If evidence remains incomplete, the limitation should be stated in the story. Readers may submit supporting evidence or challenges to punnami.news@gmail.com.
