Despite going around the panchayat for three months, the problem has not been resolved, and an appeal to put aside political differences and cooperate in development Wankidi, Punnami Representative, (Date: 19.09.2026): Contractor Mandokar Anil has expressed his concern that he is facing serious difficulties due to the delay in the signature of the Deputy Sarpanch in the Wankidi Major Gram Panchayat of Asifabad district. He said that although the signatures of the Sarpanch and Panchayat Secretary have been completed in the Panchayat process related to the development work he has undertaken, the signature of the Deputy Sarpanch is pending. Anil stated that despite going around the Gram Panchayat office for signature for the last three months, the problem has not been resolved. He alleged that the delay in the process related to his work is due to the impact of political differences that arose during the last Sarpanch election. However, the concerned Deputy Sarpanch is yet to give an explanation on these allegations. “If you kill… kill at once.. don’t cause mental distress” Contractor Anil expressed his deep concern, expressing his mental anguish due to the delay in the signature. “And you torture me like this… I have done you injustice,” he said, revealing his situation. He said that he was facing financial and personal difficulties due to having to wait for a signature for so long. Anil urged everyone to leave aside the political differences during the elections and cooperate with the development of the village. He said that development works undertaken for the needs of the people should not be delayed due to personal or political differences. He appealed to the authorities to monitor that every process related to the panchayat is carried out transparently as per the rules. “The works are of good quality” – Ward member Nagose Tanubai, member of the 11th ward of Wankidi Gram Panchayat, said that the works undertaken by contractor Mandokar Anil were of good quality. He stated that the works were undertaken in a way that would benefit the people. He said that if there is a delay in the process related to development works, it is likely to affect the people, and he asked the authorities to look into the problem and resolve it as per the rules. The intervention of the authorities is needed. Why is the signature of the deputy sarpanch pending? Are the documents related to the works in accordance with the rules? At what stage did the process stop? The locals are demanding that the relevant authorities conduct an investigation and provide clarity on the issues. The contractor, who approached the collector, appealed to the district collector to seek justice for him as the problem has not been resolved for three months. He requested that a full investigation be conducted into the problem, the actual circumstances be examined, and instructions be given to the relevant authorities to take the panchayat process forward as per the rules. It remains to be seen how the relevant sub-sarpanch and panchayat officials will respond to this matter.
