*Chief Electoral Officer of India Gyanesh Kumar should resign immediately**Treating constitutional right to vote will not be tolerated: DCC President Garnepudi Alexander Sudhakar*
Narasaraopet, September 30
Palnadu District Congress Committee President Garnepudi Alexander Sudhakar demanded that the Chief Electoral Officer of India, Gyanesh Kumar, who is stealing votes and trampling on the voting rights of citizens, the lifeblood of democracy in the country, should resign from his post immediately. As per the call given by AICC, and as per the orders of AP PCC President Y.S. Sharmila Reddy, a huge rally and protest demonstration was organized in Narasaraopet town under the auspices of Palnadu District Congress. The rally, which started from the district DCC office, proceeded through Mallamma Center. First, the leaders garlanded the statues of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi and paid their respects. Later, they raised slogans against the stance of the Central Election Commission and demanded the removal of the Chief Electoral Officer. After protesting at the Collector’s office, they handed over a petition with several demands to the authorities. Speaking on the occasion, DCC President Garnepudi Alexander Sudhakar clarified that AICC top leader Rahul Gandhi’s previous warnings that large-scale vote theft is taking place across the country, trampling on the right to vote of citizens, have come true today. He expressed his concern that the Election Commissioners themselves admitting to the illegal removal of nearly 13 crore votes across the country in the name of SIR is an ax to the country’s democracy. He called on everyone who believes in the Indian Constitution and democracy to put aside political differences and join this struggle being waged by the Congress Party. He said that the Congress party will continue its uncompromising struggle until every eligible citizen gets the constitutional right to vote. A large number of Congress leaders including senior state leaders (Chilakaluripet) Radhakrishna, Rashtra Seva Dal president Yalamanda Reddy, Sattenapalli in-charge Chandrapal, leaders S.M. Basha, Bhavani Venkatesh, Sriramireddy, Karimoon, Anil, Emmanuel, Satyam, Ravi Kishore, Kondalu, Rahman, Basha Peer, Subhani, Mohan Rao, Gyanraj Pal and others participated in this protest program.
