AP AIDS Control Society Project Director B. Smaran Raj Madanapalle launched a Kalajata to create widespread awareness about HIV/AIDS across the state. Andhra Pradesh AIDS Control Society Project Director B. Smaran Raj said that various programs are being organized to create widespread awareness among the people about HIV/AIDS across the state. On Wednesday, AP AIDS Control Society Project Director B. Smaran Raj flagged off the HIV/AIDS awareness Kalajata program at the office of the District Medical and Health Officer in Madanapalle. Speaking on the occasion, District Medical and Health Officer Dr. Srinivasulu and District AIDS Control Officer Dr. L. Radhika said that they are creating widespread awareness among the youth about HIV. They said that high-risk cases are being identified and HIV tests are being conducted as part of the AIDS safety program. They explained that those diagnosed with HIV are being provided with medicines immediately through ART centers. He said that people are being made aware of how HIV is transmitted through art groups in towns and villages and the precautions to be taken to avoid contracting the disease. He advised that people living with HIV should not be discriminated against. He said that people are also being made aware of HIV, STIs and tuberculosis. He said that a state-level 5K marathon run competition will be organized in Vijayawada on the 29th of this month. AP AIDS Control Society Joint Director Sukumar, Joint Districts Disha Cluster Program Manager Vempalli Bhaskar, District Supervisor Prasad, Anand, NGO Project Managers Purushottam, Srinivasulu, Alavali, Obulesu, Swathi and others participated in the program. After a surprise inspection at the ART center, AP AIDS Control Society Project Director B. Smaran Raj conducted a surprise inspection of the ART center at Madanapalle District Hospital. He asked the medical officer and staff about various issues. The records at the center were examined and the services provided were reviewed.
