The opposition AIADMK in Tamil Nadu has suffered another political setback. Karur MLA and former minister M.R. Vijayabhaskar, who belongs to the party, resigned from his MLA post on Monday. He personally submitted his resignation letter to Speaker J.C.D. Prabhakar, which was accepted by the Speaker. This has further increased the number of vacancies in the Assembly. The party’s strength has decreased as several AIADMK MLAs have already left the party and resigned. This development has become a topic of discussion in Tamil Nadu politics. In the wake of a petition filed on the role of the Speaker in accepting the resignations of MLAs, the Assembly Secretary also submitted his explanation in the court.
