Ambedkar The tarred road recently constructed by the Panchayat Raj Department in Indupalli village of Amalapuram mandal of Konaseema district at an estimated cost of about Rs. 2 crores was damaged even a month before it was completed. The road, which is about 100 meters long, was split into two pieces, split in the middle as if by an earthquake and sank to one side. Locals allege that quality defects in the road construction were revealed after heavy rains. People are expressing concern over the damage to the road, which was built with crores of rupees of public money, in such a short time. Locals are demanding that the concerned authorities immediately inspect the road, conduct a comprehensive investigation into the quality of construction and take action against those responsible.
