Visakhapatnam, October 2: Teachers met MP Shri Bharath and submitted a petition demanding that Visakha Vimala Vidyalaya in the Pedagantyada steel displaced area be converted into a government school. The MP said that he had assured that he would discuss the issue of bringing the school under the government purview with Education Minister Nara Lokesh. The teachers explained that they were concerned about the future of the students as the current contract would end in March 2027 in the backdrop of the financial situation of the steel plant. They said that a large number of steel displaced people, contract workers and children from poor families are studying in the school. District Telugu Youth General Secretary Molli Pentiraju, teachers, alumni and others participated in the program.
