She said that the process of allotment of licenses is being conducted in a fair and transparent manner. It was stated that licenses related to cartels and benami interests have been removed. She said that 20 percent of the licenses were renewed in this process, while 80 percent of the licenses were successfully renewed. It was revealed that Rs. 36.32 crores of government revenue has been collected through these. She said that currently a total of 27 liquor shops are vacant in 14 mandals, two municipalities and one town panchayat in Nandyal district. She said that a district gazette notification has been issued as per the orders of the District Collector and Commissioner. She said that applications for these 27 shops are being accepted from September 24th to October 1st midnight through online, offline and hybrid methods. The official draw will be held on October 5 at 8 am under the supervision of the District Collector. Applicants need not fear any political pressure, and if anyone is threatened, they should contact District Officer S. Ravikumar directly at 8008828467 and provide information. Referring to past performance, he said that Nandyal district stood third in the state with 2,226 applications during 2024-26. He said that official records do not support the claims that liquor shops are running at a loss, and there is evidence in the records of their profitability. He also said that in addition to further increasing surveillance through the AP Excise app, AI-based CCTV systems are being made mandatory. He said that technology is being used to detect criminal activities. Joint Commissioner Nagalakshmi made it clear that attempts by politicians, syndicates or others to obstruct the license process will not be tolerated. He warned that legal action will be taken if any action is taken that causes loss to the government revenue. She urged that any information regarding any irregularities, threats, or interference in this process be brought to the attention of the authorities immediately.
